OCCUPATION
In 2017 he began training to become a police chief with the Baden-Wurttemberg police in Germany. "Weightlifting is still great fun for me. My daily routine has changed considerably compared to my time as an athlete, when I was fully focused on my training. The focus has shifted now to training the police, while I train for weightlifting in the evenings. He failed to register a valid lift at the 2017 World Championships in Anaheim, CA, United States of America. "Honestly, I still have no real explanation for this. It was the first time in my career that this happened. I think it happened once in a youth championships, but that was more than 20 years ago. During the warm-up, I lifted 160kg, and that was okay. I had a cold for a few weeks beforehand, but that's no excuse. An injury has also affected my preparation.
