Why this sport? As young boys he and fellow Indonesian weightlifter Eko Yuli Irawan both sneaked into a club to watch a training session. The coach invited them to return the next day to train. "The coach told me that if I win, I will get free hotels and trips overseas. Six months later I won a bronze medal in a national event. It wasn't bad as a teenager since I got paid and didn't ask for pocket money to my parents anymore."
